The government has concluded an anti-dumping investigation on imports of iron or non-alloy cold-rolled coils with a width of more than 1,300 mm from China, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam, and has decided to impose a final parity tariff on anti-dumping.
It also made a final ruling that there will be no definite anti-dumping duties on imported tin-mill blackboards and finwall end-use products of automobiles and transformers.
"The imposition of anti-dumping duties on the underlying goods imported from the accused country is expected to address the issue of unfair trade practices," the Ministry of International Trade and Industry said in a statement today.
The ministry pointed out that the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) will compulsorily levy anti-dumping duties, which are valid from December 25, 2019 to December 24, 2024 for a period of five years.
According to a petition filed by Mycron Steel CRC Sdn Bhd on behalf of the domestic industry producing cold-rolled products, an investigation was initiated on March 29, 2019 under the Anti-Subsidy and Anti-dumping Duties Act of 1993 and the 1994 Anti-Subsidy and Anti-dumping Duties Act. Coil.
The petitioner claims that the importation of the target goods from the alleged country into Malaysia at a price lower than the price sold in their respective domestic markets has caused significant damage to Malaysia's domestic industry.
