CSM urges netizens to be vigilant against cyber threat attacks

Posted on:

CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM) urges the public, especially system administrators and Internet users in Malaysia, to remain vigilant against cyber threats and attacks that are taking place today.

As an agency and cybersecurity technology specialist centre under the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia, the agency today issued a statement urging all internet users to continue to use technology and internet procedures and methods, including social media, in a positive, ethical and responsible manner website.

"Since the beginning of this year, there have been several cyber security incidents in the country, including the #OpsWakeUp21 cyber attack campaign targeting government websites and online properties, Microsoft server vulnerabilities, and Facebook Data leakage, including the latest cyber threats and attacks.

He pointed out that from time to time, the agency issued alerts and consultations through the Malaysia Computer Emergency Response Team (MyCERT) website, https://www.mycert.org.my/.

"System administrators and Internet users can browse the site for information on methods and best practices to address and enhance prevention of cybersecurity incidents, thereby reducing the impact and risk of cyber threats and attacks."

General procedures and best practices for citizens to follow:
