Atap.co, a Malaysia online home design platform has partnered with China’s e-commerce marketplace Taobao to set up the first Taobao Home Experience Centre at Jaya One, Petaling Jaya.
The new retail concept store is the outcome of a partnership with Taobao’s home & living channel Jiyoujia (极有家), which introduces home and living products on the platform.
Malaysian shoppers can see, touch and feel products from Jiyoujia at the 4,500sq ft centre before making purchases online.
“The Experience Centre is more than just a showroom. It’s designed as a one-stop shop to link the gap between online and offline shopping experience. Customers can browse any Jiyoujia products at the Experience Centre and use their mobile phones to scan the QR codes attached on the products for more information.
“The launch is yet another demonstration of our commitment to partnering with Malaysian businesses and serving customers better with innovative and digital-enabled services. We are extremely pleased to be partnering with Atap.co to bring Taobao Home Experience Centre to Malaysia, where we have seen strong demand for high quality and well-designed home and living products, with impressive growth year over year in the category.” “With this new retail format and customized services, we are confident this store will offer Malaysian consumers a seamless and superior shopping experience,” says Mickey Xiong, country director of Taobao and Tmall World for Southeast Asia and Hong Kong markets.
